VW Polo 2019 Features

There are not many major changes in the variants of the VW Polo 2019. It was already well features loaded. It gets a seven-inch touchscreen with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and an optional reverse camera. There is climate control, rear AC vent and two airbags. If we look at the features that will be made available on the Polo 2019, compared to 2018 – there is no difference. The only new addition will be speed warning and even co-driver seat belt warning.

VW Polo 2019

There are steering mounted audio controls and even cruise control. Volkswagen is offering this hatchback with good quality materials. The dashboard design won’t change, and shall be the same it has been since 2010. In terms of space, the front seats are wide and supportive. Tall people can sit comfortably and travel without any issue for an entire day. The rear seat of the Polo is cramped and not much of space is left for rear passengers. This makes it difficult for longer trips. The boot space is also just fine for a road trip. VW has built an exciting product for the Indian car market and the Polo is one of them.

VW Polo 2019 Engine and Transmission

Specifications Polo 2019
Engine 1.0-litre turbo petrol
Power 80bhp
Torque 140Nm
Transmission 6-speed manual
Mileage 11-14km/l

As far the petrol engine goes, there is a 1.0-liter engine. The transmission along with it shall be six-speed manual. The diesel engine that is the 1.5-litre TDI is on its last legs too. VW will discontinue the diesel engine as we inch closer to April 2020. The 1.5-litre diesel comes with 90 bhp and five-speed manual on the Polo at the moment.

The GT TSI is also likely to get the 1.0-litre turbo, with a higher state of tune. This will make it a powerful option and there shall be a lot of options as well. There is a good possibility of the 1.2-litre turbo petrol cycle ending as VW will be working towards getting one turbo petrol engine mostly. At the moment, there is no clarity about this. There is a good possibility that the company will want to make one engine for affordably priced cars.

VW Polo 2019 Mileage

Mileage is important for this segment. The diesel has been one of the finest for mileage. The engine should return about 14-19km/l depending on city and highway. The other bit that is important is the petrol engine. The new petrol engine should return about 12-14km/l.New Volkswagen Polo 2017

VW Polo 2019 Competition

The Polo was a premium hatchback against the i20, but that segment has seen an increase in its length. Today it competes with the Ford Figo, Maruti Swift and the Hyundai Grand i10 in interior space. In terms of pricing, there is an overlap with the Baleno, Elite i20, Honda Jazz and the upcoming new Tata Altroz. There are SUVs like Nexon, Vitara Brezza and even the Venue that come in the same price point too.
