The 2020 Mahindra XUV500 is going to be a very important product for Mahindra along with the new generation Mahindra Thar, new Mahindra Scorpio and the Bolero which has been updated for new stricter safety norms. There is a big chance that the new XUV500 will headline the launches and unveilings that take place on the 2020 Auto Expo. The car will be based on the platform of the Ssangyong Korando. Mahindra will be very focused on keeping the existing design language of the XUV500. 2020 Mahindra XUV500 Price in India

The 2020 Mahindra XUV500 is will be priced very competitively. The car has recently been introduced in the W3 variant. This base variant has lowered the price of the car and made the 7-seater SUV more affordable and it attracts more customers from the Hyundai Creta and the XUV300 pool of buyers. Our estimate is that the base model of the car should start somewhere in between Rs 12 to Rs 22 lakhs

2020 Mahindra XUV500 Platform

The Mahindra XUV500 will be based on the underpinning/platform of the Ssangyong Korando. We expect the platform to be maxed to its limits for the new XUV500. The current generation is bigger in terms of every dimension – length, height, width and wheelbase than the XUV500. The car will be made with a lot of bigger than the Korando which is smaller than even the current XUV500. We can expect bigger tyres and the chassis to be built in order to accommodate the third row and leave some room for the boot.

2020 Mahindra XUV500 Design

While the XUV500 will borrow a lot of cues and stying from the Korando, the car will be Mahindra in design. The cheetah inspired looks of the XUV500 will be maintained. The signature headlamps and the luxurious interiors too. The car will be made with a lot of significance given to the existing stance and design of the XUV500. The car will be a complete design overhaul in terms of looks. it will be interesting to see how many Ssangyong design cues, interior bits and things like buttons make it on the XUV500.

There has been a piece of news that the XUV 500 will do away with the old Cheetah claw design of the handlebar. Instead,it will have a new premium feel to the vehicle which will be of the body flushed handlebars. This will be inspired from the Range Rover Velar. The vehicle has already spotted a few times on the road while being tested and it has been confirmed that the door handle will change on the XUV500.

2020 Mahindra XUV500 Specifications

The 2020 Mahindra XUV500 will be the underdevelopment 2.0-litre engine that will come paired to a six-speed gearbox and a six-speed automatic. The car is offered internationally with the option of two Euro 6 engines, an all-new 1.5 litre petrol GDI-turbo engine, and an updated 1.6 litre diesel engine. An EV is planned to follow in due course. Other than that, we might see 19-inch alloy wheels as the largest option available on the car and the option of a Micro-hybrid system which includes start-stop for traffic and a battery pack to keep functions like the AC at full power with the car’s engine not running.

The 2020 model of the XUV 500 has been spotted testing. this vehicle is bigger than the current generation. The testing mule was heavily masked. the car has bold lines which are characteristic of Mahindra cars. the overhang of the vehicle has also increased indicating that there will be a 7 seater version soon.

Mahindra will plan to give it more safety features, a better infotainment system and also in keeping with the trend of connected cars like the Hyundai Venue and the MG Hector offer – a completely overhauled MMI system with all the features of a connected car. We can see Mahindra offering this car front parking sensors and a 360-degree parking camera.

The Voice Assist feature will be very responsive and great on the car. There will be more 8 airbags in the car including one for the third row and the driver’s knee.
