2019 Honda BR-V Specifications

The BRV excels when it comes to its engine and performance. The 1.5-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel have good power at most of the engine speeds. One doesn’t need to shift gears frequently as there is seamless delivery of power from the diesel. Hence, it is a good option to consider. There is good enough torque to pull the engine cleanly. It doesn’t feel as torquey as a diesel though.

The manual transmission on both versions is a six-speed unit. The petrol engine is highly refined, however, it is the diesel that is a bit noisy. The petrol also gets a CVT option, else both come with a six-speed manual transmission. What is good about the BRV engines is that they have good performance without much of a compromise on fuel efficiency, especially the diesel.

The BRV has powerful and good mileage engines. The petrol is highly refined and feels more powerful than the competition.

The facelifted BR-V for Indonesia comes with a single 1.5-litre petrol unit, unlike the India-spec model that also gets a 1.5-litre diesel engine option.

2019 Honda BR-V Competition

The car will compete with the Maruti Ertiga, Renault Lodgy, Datsun Go Plus and the Mahindra TUV300 Plus. It will also compete with the upcoming Creta 7 seater.
