That’s right folks! You heard it first here. The Hyundai Venue is going to be launched in the upcoming few months and it is going to be India’s first ‘smart SUV’. So how will it be a smart SUV? The car has been enabled by Hyundai’s BlueLink technology. The technology will include the following functions –

  • In build eSim by Idea Vodafone for seamless connectivity
  • 10 India specific functions
  • SOS, RSA & BlueLink button inbuilt for easy access
  • Key Focus on safety, Security, Vehicle Relationship management and more. (see table below for more information)
  • First car in India with a Panic Button.

Hyundai Venue Blue Link

Hyundai says that the technology has been specially tested and developed with India in mind. The SOS, Road Side Assistance and BlueLink button are on the Inside Rear View. The company is going to try and beat MG to the punch on introducing such technologies. The MG Hector is also going to come in with these technologies. While we will know more about the MG in the coming week and the technology on offer. We now know that the Hyundai Venue will be able to monitor live traffic and will also be able to perform other functions like find my car and send distress messages to family members and loved ones. The Venue will also have a chauffeur mode and a geo-fencing ability. With these features and abilities, the car will have added functions like Find My Car. The feature that is really going to be a hit is the remote start function of this car. The car can be started remotely via an app and the temperature can be set according to what climate is prevailing.

The car will have a total of 33 such features. The company claims with such features available to the user, the Venue will be the most user-friendly car in the segment. The features that the company is offering will definitely be a segment first. The MG Hector, though placed one segment above will have these features too. It will be interesting to see the pricing of both cars. One is an entry-level premium SUV and the other is a sub-four meter compact SUV.

Hyundai will be launching the Venue in May and will be giving us the first look of this upcoming SUV in the next month. The Hyundai Venue will compete with the Ford EcoSport, Mahindra XUV300, Tata Nexon, Maruti Vitara Brezza and the Honda WRV. But when it comes to features and the expected price, we think the EcoSport and the XUV300 are more suited as competition.
