Toyota Ertiga Coming Soon!

This is true. Toyota will not be just selling the Baleno, but even the Ertiga as well. Toyota is known for its UVs. The Qualis was successful, then the Innova and now the Crysta. This has made room for the Ertiga as well in the Toyota fleet. The Japanese automaker will be getting the Ertiga to the Toyota showroom, with a difference in its design and also a new name. This will mean Toyota will be looking at introducing an affordable 7-seater vehicle in its list.

Toyota hasn’t been successful in the under Rs 10 lakh price bracket and this will be a great opportunity. The Etios family hasn’t been a major success story. Toyota Ertiga Price in India

The price for the Toyota Ertiga will be about Rs 9 lakhs (on-road) for the base petrol and the top model shall be in the price point of Rs 15 lakhs. This will have somewhat different styling. The tuning of the engine and even the suspension will not be altered. This will mean that the company is looking at offering a range of features to buyers in this segment. Toyota Ertiga – will be about Rs 50,000 expensive than the Maruti. It will have Toyota’s service back-up and of course a bit of more premium-ness in service. That is where it will be heading.

Toyota Ertiga Engine and Transmission

By the time Toyota will get its 7-seater MUV, BS-VI norms would have come in. This will mean that the Ertiga will now have a new diesel engine. This will be a 1.5-litre diesel mill churning about 95bhp of power and close to 200Nm of peak torque. It will come mated to a six-speed manual transmission. This engine will be made available only with a manual. There shall not be an automatic on offer. At the same time, the Ertiga will even get a 1.5-litre petrol engine. This will produce close to 105bhp of power. It shall be micro-hybrid with the start-stop system. Petrol will be paired with a five-speed manual and the other option is four-speed automatic.

Toyota Ertiga Mileage

In terms of mileage, the Ertiga petrol will return about 12-13km/l in the city and about 15km/l on the highway for the manual. The Ertiga petrol auto has a mileage of 11km/l in the city and close to 13km/l on the highway. The diesel on the other hand should retun about 16km/l in the city and close to 19km/l on the highway.

In terms of features, the Toyota Ertiga will not be any different from Maruti. The list of features shall be the same on the duo. So, following is what is expected on the Ertiga.

We aren’t certain if anything else will be offered on it. The looks of the front end and the rear shall be different. Apart from that, nothing major will change on this vehicle. So, it is an exciting phase and we do expect Toyota to get the 1.5-litre diesel engine before Maruti.
