2016 Renault Duster Automatic Spied

We had indicated earlier that there will be an automatic version of the Duster, coming with its facelift, in early 2016. The automatic variant of the Duster has now been spied testing. Renault will be launching Duster automatic which will be powered by their 1.5 litre, four cylinder, turbocharged unit with 108bhp.

The automatic transmission for this engine is a six-speed dual clutch unit, called EDC or Efficient Dual Clutch system. The Renault Duster diesel automatic may be also available in the all-wheel drive version, to compete with the Mahindra Scorpio 4WD automatic. Hyundai Creta was the first automatic Diesel SUV in the sub-20 lakh bracket, followed by the Mahindra Scorpio, which also went on to offer it in the 4WD version.

The Duster facelift will get exterior changes including a new headlamp with LED lights, new front grille and new bumpers with scuff plates. The muscular look of the SUV will be as it is and it will also get new roof rails. The interiors also shall be updated with a new seat fabric and a new touchscreen system with a brand new instrument cluster and several new additional features too. The interiors will have better fit and finish to take on the Hyundai Creta.
