DC Avanti launched at INR 39.5 Lakhs (on-road)

Dilip Chhabria has introduced India’s first genuine sports car, the DC Avanti, to the market. The car has been  creating quite a buzz and was much awaited. It has finally been launched at INR 39.5 lakhs (ex showroom Pune).

Ace car designer Dilip Chhabria said, “We are proud of the fact that it is indigenously designed and developed in India for Indian customers and for Indian roads. It’s now a car that the young can aspire. Usually when you’re young, you can’t afford a sports car.

But with this, we are trying to reach out to the young aspirants to be able to afford a sports car because in other countries the sports car is a huge segment by itself,” he said at the launch event, while also adding that the first Made-in-India sports car was designed keeping the young speed lovers in mind.

The Avanti is manufactured by AadiVenoo, which is owned by Dilip Chhabria and measures 4,550mm in length, 1,965mm in width, and 1,200mm in height. The car has a Renault-sourced 2.0-litre turbo Euro 5 compliant petrol engine, mated to a six-speed manual transmission.

The highest speed of the car is electronically limited to 200 kilometers per hour (kmph).

The Avanti will be available in three colours namely red, white and silver.
