Fiat has christened Egea as the name for the next-generation Linea and this new vehicle will be launched globally in November 2015. This sedan was showcased as a concept at the Istanbul Motor Show in this May and will be getting into production at Fiat’s Turkish plant. Fiat is considering to get it to India as well, however the India plan is being made. (Watch out for a detailed story on Fiat India’s plan on coming Monday).

The Egea has been designed by Fiat’s design centre, which has been churning out fabulous designs. The Egea looks contemporary and has that Italian flair in its design. Fiat has made it on a new platform, which will also be used to make the new-generation compact hatchback and even an SUV as well. The production version of the Fiat Aegea has been spotted a couple of times on test after the unveiling of the concept.

The Egea will be powered by a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol that will be producing about 93bhp – 118bhp of power. There will also be a couple of diesel engines on offer as well. These vehicles will be manufactured in Fiat’s Turkish plant and exported majorly to European market.

In terms of features, it gets a new five-inch touchscreen infotainment system, brand new interiors, which will also be reflected on the upcoming Fiat range as well. The Egea will be making its way into India or no, we are still investigating and we should update you with a story by Monday mostly.
