2019 Hyundai Santro Cross – Tiago NRG rival

Today a car has to be much more than its initial expectations. Manufactures are working around the clock to make sure all their models are always exciting. Let’s take Tata for example. At the start of the year we saw the Nexon get AMT, a petrol engine and a limited edition model. Very recently we saw Tata Motors refresh the Tigor and introduce the Tiago NRG. We then saw them release the Tiago and Tigor JTP twins. The Tata Safari was given bigger tyres in an upgrade. Next year we are going to see Tata launch the Harrier and the 45X. We might see new JTP models too. All of this done to keep the brand more alive and fresh. This means that we will see cars like the 2019 Hyundai Santro Cross too in the future.

2019 Hyundai Santro Cross Launch

The Santro was launched in October 2018 right around the festive season. The 2019 Hyundai Santro Cross could be launched in the month of March or April. It will be in the first half of 2019. Hyundai will keep the Santro in news with this move. The car will be a very cool version of the favorite Indian family car to have.

2019 Hyundai Santro Cross Price

The price for the current regular car starts from Rs 3.9 lakhs and goes up to Rs 6 lakhs. We expect this car to be a bit more expensive.

It will mostly be available in two variants only. The car will be available in the Magna variant and the Sportz variant. The Asta variant might be reserved for the regular Santro. The car will get a AMT version too but sadly no CNG option.

A cross version means a lot of body cladding and an increase in ground clearance. Hyundai could introduce alloy wheels on the 2019 Hyundai Santro Cross. These alloy wheels could then be also seen on the regular car. There will be a dual tone finish to the car. The body cladding will also be in different shades. There could be a new grille to differentiate the cars. Other than that it will be the same.

Inside here the changes will be minuscule. There could be badging that is changed. The increase in ground clearance will be beneficial to the driver and the visibility. The tallboy design with the aid of the ground clearance will make the car easier to enter and exist. The 2019 Hyundai Santro Cross could get some more accessories too. Apart from this, upholstery, seats and the infotainment system will remain the same.

2019 Hyundai Santro Cross Specifications

Here apart from the incrase in ground clearance, nothing changes. The same 1.1-litre petrol engine will do duty. The five speed manual and AMT will also be present here. The car will be a bit better in its suspension feel and will be happier to tackle bad roads and harsher environments than the regular Santro.  The storage space will increase as well.

2019 Hyundai Santro Cross Competition

The car’s main competition will be the Tata Tiago NRG. The car will be an interesting alternative and will be a good choice for someone not looking to invest heavily into a SUV.
