The Mercedes Benz 6×6 is a big pick up truck with a lot of oomph added to an already badass vehicle. While the Mercedes is a rare sight on Indian roads, one biker in Banglore spotted an even more rare car. A Mahindra Thar with a extra axle! An extra axle means six wheels. The 6×6 Mahindra as seen in the video below had just taken a let off a junction and sped straight with speeds as indicated on the bikers camera of over 50km/h. The Mahindra Thar 6×6 may have become thirsty after that as it could be seen going into the Shell petrol pump at the end of the road.

Some of the modifications include a snorkel, which has been mounted on the driver side and the aftermarket headlamps that get LED lamps installed with integrated turn indicators. It also gets off-road bumpers at the front and rear and an off-road spec bull bar mounted at the front. The tail lamps have been upgraded to aftermarket ones too.

The vehicle is also fitted with a roll cage but no seat belts. We are a bit skeptical about the conversion of the 4×4 system into the Mahindra Thar 6×6.

For all we know the car is a 6×4 with the third axle not a live unit. Lastly, the question of legality. It’s absolutely not! According to RTO, modifying the structure of the vehicle is illegal. It can lead to the vehicle’s seizure.

One can apply through the ARAI, a proper registration process of the vehicle. With that passed, this badass truck can be driven on the road legally.
