Yamaha R15S launched at INR 1.25 lakhs (on-road)

The new Yamaha R15 S has been launched in India at a price of INR 1.25 lakhs (on-road, Delhi). The model was unveiled at the  2015 Nepal Auto Show,and an Indian launch of the same was also announced.

The Yamaha R15 S is The new S version is essentially the single seat variant of the 150cc  bike, which was on sale before Version 2.0 was launched in India. The Yamaha R15 S features new body graphics and icomes in three colours –  Track White, Adrenalin Red and Spark Green.

As per Roy Kurian, Vice President of Sales & Marketing, Yamaha Motor India, the company’s research showed that a specific customer segment preferred a single seat version of the R15 which is more convenient for the pillion rider. The single seat model has been developed based on the market feedback pertaining to the lack of comfort on the current Version 2.0 model’s split pillion seat.

The new variant is powered by the same 149.8 cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine with SOHC, capable of producing 16bhp at 8,500 rpm and a torque of 15Nm at 7,500 rpm and is mated to a six-speed gearbox
