Hero to launch two scooters by the end of September – EXCLUSIVE

Hero is likely to launch the Duet and the Maestro Edge by the end of September. Both these will be brand new scooters and will be powered by the 110cc scooter that will producing about 9bhp of power and will come with CVT (continuously variable transmission). The Duet will come with several first-in-class features like USB charger, fuel-point on the outside, which makes it easier to fill up.

The Duet will come in two variants LX and mostly VX.

The second scooter is the Maestro Edge. This will be a direct competition to the highest selling scooter, the Activa 3G. The Maestro was developed with Honda’s technology and the Maestro Edge is an all-new scooter from the Indian two-wheeler manufacturer. This is also get the same Hero’s newly developed 110cc engine as well.

Hero will boost its sales during the festive season as it will introduce them just before the start of Dussera and Diwali. The Indian two-wheeler maker has the highest market share in two-wheelers, but in scooters Honda is the dominant player.

Hero will price the Maestro Edge similar to the Activa, though a bit lesser. While the Duet will be expensive than the Activa by a good INR 3,000-4,000.
