Mahindra is working on 3 petrol engines

Mahindra and Ssangyong are together developing three engines for the global range of products. The three engines will be the 1.2-litre, 1.6-litre and the 2.0-litre mills. “We are working on a family of petrol engines, the first-one of them to be introduced will be the 1.2-litre petrol,” stated Dr Pawan Goenka, Executive Director, Mahindra & Mahindra.

Mahindra’s first engine will be on the S101, which will be a 1.2-litre petrol as we had predicted. The S101 will be a compact SUV that will be smaller than the TUV300 and is likely to be called as XUV100. The Mahindra TUV300 is just launched with a 1.5-litre mHawk80.

Mahindra developing a new set of petrol and diesel engines with Ssangyong, which will be launched soon. The 2.0-litre petrol engine will be powering the XUV500, which will be majorly for exports and be utilised for Ssangyong products also.
