Maruti Ciaz SHVS priced at INR 9.1 lakhs (on-road)

Maruti Ciaz SHVS is one of the most fuel-efficient car in the country with a fuel-efficiency. This new sedan has been launched for INR 9.1 lakhs (on-road). The Ciaz SHVS (Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki) gets a start-stop system to switch off the engine when idling at a traffic signal or when in traffic. This increases the fuel-efficiency of the car and so the Ciaz has a fuel-efficiency of 28.09km/l.

One has the option to even switch off this feature as even the AC switches off, which isn’t a great thing especially in Indian summers. The SHVS is available only in the diesel, and the engine is a 1.3-litre mulitjet that produces 90bhp of power and 200Nm of maximum torque. The Ciaz SHVS will be made available in VDi, VDi (O), VDi+, ZDi and ZDi+ variants.

1. Ciaz SHVS VDi: INR 9.1 lakhs
2. Ciaz SHVS VDi (O): INR 9.25 lakhs
3. Ciaz SHVS VDi+ : INR 9.6 lakhs
4. Ciaz SHVS ZDi: INR 10.43 lakhs
5. Ciaz SHVS ZDi+: INR 11.24 lakhs

The features list on the Ciaz will remain the same like the existing variants, just it will be the only diesel engine that will be made available. The Ciaz will also be sold through Maruti’s Nexa range of dealerships along with the S-Cross. There have been talks about the Ciaz being made available with a 1.6-litre diesel engine too, however there is no confirmation of that yet. The Ertiga too will be getting the SHVS technology and the facelift version will be launched in October.
