Maruti Ciaz SHVS brochure leaked

Maruti has opened bookings for the Ciaz SHVS Hybrid, which is to be launched tomorrow. Dealers are accepting INR 11000 to INR 21000 for the booking. The brochure of the car has also been leaked.

The brochure images detail out the specifications and features of the Ciaz SHVS.

The Ciaz SHVS will get a large capacity battery, integrated starter generator and start-up technology, which will help it achieve a fuel efficiency of over 30 km/l. The ISG –  integrated starter generator, that Ciaz incorporates,  provides engine power using the motor thereby achieving efficient power regeneration. The start-stop technology also further aides better efficiency.

The diesel powered Ciaz which uses the Fiat sourced diesel engine, returns an ARAI certified mileage of 26km/l. The SHVS is expected to better this fuel efficiency figure to 28.09 km/l, to become the most fuel efficient car in the country, beating its own Celerio diesel, launched recently.

Expect the Ciaz SVHS to be priced aggressively and not too much a premium over the reguler diesel version. This vehicle falls under the government of India’s FAME programme (Faster Adoption and Manufacture of hybrid and Electric vehicles programme), hence there will be price benefits to the tune of INR 1.0 lakh.

The Ciaz SHVS will be available in Vdi, Vdi (O), Vdi+, Zdi & Zdi+ variants. The petrol variants will continue as with the current Ciaz, however, the conventional diesel variants will be replaced by the Ciaz hybrid. Vxi (O) and Vdi (O) variants have been newly added which boast of all the features from the base Vxi/Vdi variants respectively, but in addition, get ABS and a co-driver airbag apart from the driver side airbag.

The only change externally is a SVHS badge on the rear. The diesel hybrid system by Suzuki is also likely to power other diesel vehicles like the Ertiga and the Swift, in the future.
