Mahindra’s S101 (CUV100) has been snapped once again and this time it is ready with its production version tail lamps and even flashed its yellow colour. The Mahindra TUV300 is likely to be launched in orange colour and the S101 (CUV100) might be coming in yellow. Mahindra is targeting young and first-time car buyers with the S101 and this will be micro-SUV or a compact crossover.

The Mahindra S101 can seat five people and will be as large as the i20 Active or the Swift in length.

The S101 has a 1.2-litre petrol and 1.2-litre diesel engine option. These are the newly developed engines by Mahindra and Ssangyong for their range of upcoming models. This micro-SUV will also be offered with an AMT (automated manual transmission) and of course five-speed manual transmission.

The CUV100 will be priced at INR 5.5-9.5 lakhs (on-road) and will come loaded with features like in-dash music system, steering mounted audio controls, reverse parking camera, airbags and ABS on the top-of-the-line variant.

Mahindra didn’t even have a single strong contender in the compact SUV/crossover segment and so they are launching two new products the S101 and the TUV300, while the Quanto will get a mid-life facelift. The TUV300 and the S101 (CUV100) will be manufactured in the company’s Chakan plant. The Pune district plant is under expansion and after XUV500, these two new models will be manufactured here. The Quanto, Xylo and the same family platform vehicles are manufactured in the company’s Nashik plant.
