While the SUV market has begun to heat up, another entrant  in line to grab a share in this segment is Honda. The upcoming BR-V from Honda will soon be making its world debut and is expected to be showcased in Auto Expo 2016.

Based on the platform common to the Brio, Amaze and the Mobilio, the BR-V will have several changes to make it look more premium. This SUV would be one with a monocoque chassis, likely to have a wheelbase similar to the Mobilio and the powertrains offered will include a 1.5 litre petrol with a five-speed transmission as well as a CVT (automatic) and a 1.5 litre diesel with an upgraded six-speed transmission. Honda is trying to load the BR-V with features like touchscreen infotainment with navigation, steering mounted controls and reverse parking camera.

We had earlier revealed some details of the BR-V, even before the official announcement by Honda and now we bring you some more news on this much awaited SUV. The BR-V is expected to be priced between INR 11-16 lacs (on-road) and will compete with the Renault Duster, Nissan Terrano, Suzuki S-Cross and Hyundai Creta. However, the BR-V will have an advantage over the others as it will be a seven-seater and space will be one of its biggest USPs. This will help it make an entry into the consideration set of buyers of the Mahindra XUV500, Tata Safari Storme and Mahindra Scorpio.

We expect the BR-V to have an aggressive and chunky styling so as to attract buyers in this segment. Surely, Honda will leave no stone unturned to make this product a big success in the marketplace.
