Bajaj RS400 has been spotted on test in Pune by PowerDrift.

The new RS400 will be a powerful version of the Pulsar and will snatch the tag of being the most powerful and fastest Pulsar ever. The RS200 had this tag for a while, but now it will be the RS400 that will take this tag away.

The RS400 will be powered by a similar 375cc engine that powers the KTM RC390 and Duke 390. The RS400 will be more track-focused and performance-oriented. Bajaj has plans to introduce the RS400 this year itself as it does not want to waste any more time. Bajaj had recently introduced the Pulsar AS 150 and AS 200 and now it is moving towards the RS400.

Bajaj has been working towards more performance bikes and even expanding its commuter range with the new Discover 125, Platina ES and the CT100. Bajaj will not want to miss out on the motorcycle segments as it isn’t introducing any scooters in the near future. Bajaj will be keen to get the 400cc bikes faster to up the ante for the Bajaj brand.

With KTM technology, it became a lot easier for the company to develop a 400cc bike and even utilise its technology for fuel-injection and even ABS (anti-lock braking system). Bajaj RS400 will have ABS as a standard feature and this might be dual-channel, whereas the RS200 gets single-channel ABS and it is available on a higher variant.

The price of the RS400 should be between INR 2-2.5 lakhs (on-road).
