Suzuki has been working on a new entry-level step-through bike and a new scooter as well. The Japanese two-wheeler maker has been working on a new 100-110cc step-through and scooter that will be launched in 2016. The step-through will be low cost and shall be targeting rural moped buyers. The bike has been codenamed as XF521 and the scooter is XE343EH.

This step-through will be up against the TVS XL and will be offering more power as well. Most-likely to be named as Suzuki Smash, this step-through will be Suzuki’s first step in affordable commuting. The Suzuki Smash is already sold in other South-East Asian markets and will be landing on Indian shores too.

Suzuki Smash

The scooter from Suzuki will be a 110cc one that will be competing with the Activas and the Maestros in the country.

Suzuki has been focusing on performance motorcycles, but now it will even be getting affordable bikes too.

The Suzuki Gixxer and Gixxer SF are doing well for the company and soon we could see a 250cc version of the Gixxer as well. Suzuki will not want to miss out on the rural market, which is where majority bike buyers are based.
