TVS XL100 launched in New Delhi at INR 34,000 (on-road)

TVS Motors has plans to launch a 100cc moped early next year as per our sources.

TVS has just celebrated a milestone for its current moped and now it will be extending its lead further with the new 100cc moped that it will be launching early next year. To carry on with the legency, it will continue to be a part of the XL family.

TVS XL100 Availability

The TVS XL100 is now made available in Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttarkhand, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Pondicherry, Andaman Nicobar and Madhya Pradesh. Now that is emission compliant, it has just been launched in New Delhi as well.

TVS XL100 Engine

The XL 100R will be powered by a 100cc engine and this will be a lot more powerful than the currently sold 70cc moped. This engine will be producing about 4bhp of power at 6,000rpm, while the torque will be about 6Nm at 3,500rpm.

TVS XL100 Mileage

The TVS XL100 has a top speed of 60km/hr and a mileage of 67km/l.

As everyone is heading towards making more affordable scooters, TVS will also add more mopeds to add more variety for rural buyers. With a powerful moped, it still becomes a cheaper and more rugged option for rural buyers to stick to moped than to a scooter.

Then there are the larger wheels of the moped and lighter body weight makes it a better option. The XL100 will have a bigger fuel tank, stainless steel brake cable, easy centre centre (for which a patent is pending) and even kick-start.

TVS XL100 Price

The new TVS XL100 is priced at INR 34,000 (on-road, New Delhi). TVS will be soon launching it in other parts of the country as well. As this is more affordable than the scooter, TVS will be looking at a more affordable version for commute.
