We were the first to reveal the BR-V story before Honda’s official release.

Honda has just made one prototype of the BR-V in India, as per the latest information from one of our sources around the plant. The Rajasthan plant of Honda is about three times the size of the Greater Noida manufacturing facility. The Tapukara plant is undergoing expansion and the BR-V is likely to be manufactured. Honda’s BR-V might just be ready by early or mid 2016 as the Japanese car maker is likely to surprise the competition. The BR-V will be a seven-seater and it will be powered by a 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol will have a five-speed manual and CVT options, while the diesel will be coming with a six-speed manual transmission. The BR-V will be based on the Brio platform, but Honda will be making several changes on the inside to made it look different and premium too.

The biggest USPs of the BR-V will its space, power and even the features. It will be priced between INR 11-15 lakhs (on-road) and will be competing with the Renault Duster, Nissan Terrano, Safari Storme and even XUV500.

The features on the BR-V will be keyless entry, push start and stop, touchscreen infotainment system with AVN, rear view camera, satellite navigation, dual airbags, ABS and sunroof.

Honda will not want to miss out on the SUV segment when everyone is entering this segment. This could be another hot selling product for Honda.
