Fiat Chrysler India will be doubling its production in India by 2018. It will have a capacity of 2.45 lakhs annual units. The Abarths and the Jeeps will be locally assembled to cut down the cost. The new-generation Fiat manufacturing will commence in 2017. This new range will be including a new hatchback and a new sedan. 

Jeep Grand Cherokee and Wrangler that will be coming to India, will be locally assembled. In the initial phase, the company will have some amount of localisation too. The company has already started signing up with local vendors around Ranjangaon. This will help them to be a lot more affordable and competitive.

The pricing of the Wrangler will be about INR 20-30 lakhs (on-road), while the Grand Cherokee will be priced at INR 45-55 lakhs (on-road). Both these will be launched next year in India, however the real sales booster for the Jeep brand will be a new compact Jeep. This will be Made in India and shall be exported around the world. The global unveil of this new Jeep will happen in India by the end of 2016 or early 2017.

The Abarth showrooms will be a part of the existing Fiat dealerships, but Jeep will a separate showroom. Fiat Chrysler has already added the applications for the new Jeep dealers, with an opportunity being offered to the existing Fiat dealers across the country.

Fiat will be manufacturing them at the company’s Ranjangaon plant in Maharashtra. A new 2.0-litre and 1.5-litre multijet engines will also be manufactured here, with the former even being shared with Tata for its new range of SUVs that will be launched in 2017-18.
