Hyundai Creta is the Korean company’s compact SUV that will be pitted against the Renault Duster, Nissan Terrano and the Maruti S-Cross. The Creta will be powered by a 1.6-litre diesel engine that produces about 126bhp of power and will come mated to a six-speed manual and automatic transmission options.

Hyundai has just shared the press release where it has stated that the three engines that will be offered will be the 1.6-litre petrol that produces 121bhp and it comes with a six-speed manual and automatic transmission options. The diesels will be the 1.4-litre U2 and the 1.6-litre U2. The Hyundai Creta will be the first SUV to have automatic transmission in petrol and diesel variants.


The Creta, also known as ix25 will be manufactured in India with high-level of localisation and this will be the company’s first compact SUV. The biggest advantage of the Creta will be its localisation, features, interior styling, transmissions and even the number of engines on offer. The Creta is a five-seater and it comes loaded with several segment first-features.
