Suzuki looking to get Gixxer 250 next year

Suzuki Gixxer 150 and the SF have been successful products for the company and now as per a report from Motorbeam, the Gixxer 250 is also due to come in. The Gixxer 250 will be powered by a 250cc single-cylinder engine and will produce about 24-27bhp of power and there will also be a Gixxer 250 SF. This will be competing with the Honda CBR 250R but there is no timeline for the launch of the full-faired bike. The Gixxer brand has worked well for Suzuki and the Japanese bike manufacturer will be looking at optimising it even further. Their existing commuter bikes will be refreshed but the company could shift its focus towards performance segment. Suzuki is also focusing on increasing its scooter presence in the country. The Suzuki range of scooters are performing decently and they will want to capitalise on this as well.

The report also states that Suzuki will not be assembling the Hayabusa in India as last month the Japanese manufacturer only sold 10 units, which is very less to even consider CKD.

The Hayabusa at the moment costs about INR 16.

5 lakhs (on-road) and after the CKD, it will be reduced to INR 11.5 lakhs. But at the moment, the numbers do not justify that and hence it won’t be a good idea to begin assembly of this bike in India.
