Fiat Aegea will be launched in November in Europe, Latin America and Africa and it will get a new name as well. Fiat is looking at getting a hatchback, sedan and even an estate wagon on this same platform. The Linea and the hatchback will be replaced by these new models.

Fiat Aegea Design

Fiat brand chief Olivier Francois stated to Autonews Europe that this new model will be frugal and practical, somewhat on the lines on the Fiat Panda. He even mentioned that the Aegea won’t be loaded with features that aren’t required and hence the consumer will not have to pay for the features they do not want. The styling of the Aegea looks stylish and this makes it look appealing too.

The front grille has a star grille and then there is a sharp headlamp design. The side profile of the Fiat Aegea has large glass area and a crisp swage line. The tail lamps have the C-shape red colour lamps, while then the chrome strip runs across.

Francois stated that this will be Fiat’s new compact car family and it will be manufactured in the company’s Turkish plant.

He declined from giving out any sales numbers but Fiat had previously released a statement that the compact family will have a production capacity of 700,000 units majority of which will be exported.

There are touches of silver on the dashboard. There will be leather seats too. In terms of space, there is good enough knee room and headroom in both the rows.

Fiat Aegea Engine

Fiat will be introducing a new hatchback and a sedan that will replace the Punto and the Linea. The sedan will be powered by a 1.3-litre and 1.5-litre mutlijet engines to avail the duty cut and make the cars a lot more affordable than before. There shall even be petrol engines be it MultiAir ones, which will be catering to the European car market. The Aegea won’t be making it into India, as this platform has been modified for European use. From what we understand, a new sedan will be coming it into India, and this will be made on the SCA platform.
