Tata’s design language will be revolutionised and this will be phase II of DesignNext. Tata Motors will be using the X0 platform, on which the Bolt and the Zest are built. But the biggest USPs of the X104 will be its styling and interior features.

The ConnectNext will also see an upgrade as well. There will be more in the offering in the X104.

Tata Motors is building a new range of petrol engines under the Revotron brand, but it will take a while for it to see the daylight. We can expect the Revotron range of engines to power Tata cars from 2016-17. The X104 will be powered by a 1.2-litre turbo petrol producing 90-100bhp of power and will come with multiple driving modes. The diesel will be a 1.3-litre with 90bhp of power and 210Nm of maximum torque. The X104 will also get an AMT option, as Tata Motors will increase its AMT capacity as well.

The price of the X104 will be about INR 7-11 lakhs (on-road) and this will be a product that will change Tata’s brand image.
