Maruti S-Cross spotted in Malaysia
Maruti Suzuki is the title sponsor for the IIFA Awards and the company will be unveiling the new S-Cross in Malyasia at the IIFA awards. The company has shipped two cars to Malaysia for the IIFA Awards. Just like how Renault had unveiled their new Lodgy at a Bollywood awards night, even Maruti Suzuki is following a similar route.
Maruti Suzuki’s S-Cross will be powered by a 1.6-litre petrol engine and a 1.3-litre diesel engine too. There might be a surprise from Maruti Suzuki is there could even be the 1.6-litre diesel awaiting to be launched as well. Hyundai is looking at introducing the ix25 with a 1.6-litre diesel engine, and so even the S-Cross might get a powerful engine.
The S-Cross will have ground clearance close to 200mm and will be priced between INR 11-16 lakhs (on-road). Maruti Suzuki will be launching the S-Cross at its new premium dealerships, which are codenamed as ‘Nexa’.
The S-Cross will not feature any Maruti Suzuki branding anywhere on the car. The S-Cross will shall be making its way into India in the coming two months, which will be a similar time when even Hyundai will be making its entry. The S-Cross is likely to be the name of the new SX4 Cross, as it was earlier speculated to be Across. Seems like the Japanese car maker has sorted the issue with the Trademark Authority of India. If you look at the front of the S-Cross, there are the new LED lamps and even the grille is all new with chrome on it.
