Mahindra will be finally launching its new bike, the Mojo, before festive season. “We will be launching the Mojo bike, in the first half of FY16,” stated Dr Pawan Goenka, Executive Director, Mahindra & Mahindra. The Mojo is a 300cc new bike that Mahindra will be looking at entering the performance segment.

The Mojo is a 296cc single-cylinder liquid cooled engine that will churn out 27bhp of power and 25Nm of peak torque. The Mojo will come mated to a six-speed transmission. It is likely to have daytime-running LED lamps, a new fuel tank, upside down forks, twin mufflers, Pirelli Sport Demon tyres, Y-spoke black alloy wheels and LED tail lamps.

The Mahindra Mojo will compete with the Honda CBR250R/300R, Kawasaki Ninja and the KTM Duke. However, Mahindra will play the price game and look at introducing the bike under INR 2.25 lakhs. This will help the company attract more bike buyers and help the company get a larger market share too.

“The Mojo isn’t a high volumes product for us, but it will add more value to our portfolio. you will soon come to know more about it,” added Dr Goenka. The company has been testing the Mojo and it has reached its final stage of testing. At the moment, the best-sellers for Mahindra are the two products, the Gusto (a 110cc scooter) and the second one is a bike called as Centuro. Mahindra has plans to introduce new products in the two-wheeler segment, however it is at the moment studying on how could it reduce the cost of the Peugeot scooters by localising in India.
