Hyundai will be launching the ix25 a little before the festive season.

The Korean automaker is looking at enhancing its footprint in the SUV segment and it will introducing its small SUV against the Renault Duster and the Nissan Terrano. Hyundai ix25 will be priced between INR 11-14.5 lakhs (on-road).

The ix25 will available in the market just around September when everyone will be preparing for the festive season. The ix25 will be launched with a 1.4-litre and 1.6-litre diesel engines and a 1.6-litre petrol mill. This will be made available with manual and automatic options.

Hyundai-ix25

Hyundai had launched the i20 Active this year, which was their all-new product so far.

Now, the second one to follow is the ix25, their second SUV after the Santa Fe. The exterior styling especially the front grille and several other cues are being shared with the Santa Fe. This compact SUV is based on the Elite i20 platform, however it doesn’t get anything similar in terms of design to the hatchback. It has its own rugged styling. Hyundai is likely to surprise us with its new interior styling and even a touchscreen infotainment system as most of the competition is already offering that. Maruti Suzuki will also be introducing the SX4 Cross this year, which will be a part of this same category.

The ix25 and the SX4 both are likely to increase the sales of this segment, which has somewhat slowed down as there isn’t any new SUV in this segment.
