Fiat revealed its new compact sedan called the Aegea project, at the Istanbul Motor Show. The Aegea is designed in Italy at the FIAT Chrysler Automobiles Centro Stile and developed in Turkey. It is set to replace the Linea, which has been around for long now.

The Aegea is well designed, is attractive and looks premium with its neatly sculpted proportions. It measures 4.5 metres in length, 1.78 metres in width and 1.48 metres in height with 2.64 metres of wheelbase. It offers a generous luggage space with a loading capacity of over 510 liters. The Aegea will be available in four engine options, two Multijet II turbo diesels and two petrol engines, mated to manual and automatic transmissions, producing between 95 and 120 BHP.

Fiat has also indicated that it will be not be named Aegea when it goes on sale and another name shall be announced close to the launch date. This car may come to India by 2017, along with other products under its new platform. Fiat continues to struggle in the Indian market and a product like this may do wonders to the limited and ageing lineup of cars in its portfolio.
