The name of the Carlino concept has been revealed. The Hyundai Styx is coming soon to India next year. The sub-4 meter SUV will also mark the debut of Hyundai’s global 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that produces 118bhp of power. Besides this, the SUV will also get a 1.

4-litre U2 CRDi diesel engine. Transmission options on the Styx are likely to include either a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic gearbox.

The highly anticipated launch by Mahindra is also coming soon. This car will be launched during the festive season or be pushed ahead due to the XUV700’s launch. This car is based on the Tivoli SUV. Anyways, the Mahindra is going to be a crash into the segment with a lot of great car already.

Mahindra is on a roll with big launches like the S201, Marazzo and XUV700, all hitting particular segments.

The Go Gross is looking like a very promising new product from Datsun. It is a much needed product which is going to cater to a segment with a huge number of buyers. It’s still not clear when the car will come to India. The concept that looked near to production was seen at the 2016 Auto Expo last.

PSA (Peugeot Citroen Motors) has announced that it will make a comeback in India earlier this year. The company has entered a joint venture agreement with CK Birla Group under which it will sell cars and components in India by 2020. Though no plan has been revealed, it is reported to bring in its global compact SUV – Peugeot 3008.  Based on the EMP (Efficient Modular Platform), the 3008 will be lighter and more efficient than its global old model. This versatile architecture can accommodate different suspension mechanism and body styles. We cannot wait to see a new manufacturer in the country come with a new car straight into the compact SUV segment.

Pricing will be higher for sure, but the product if positioned and sold through correct channels and to correct users would result in a huge impact on the Indian mindset of a electric car.

The Brezza is soon going to get the 1.5-litre engine from the new Ciaz and it will then fill the gap in it’s portfolio for sure.
