The new-generation Fiat Linea will be unveiled on 21st May at the Istanbul Motor Show. The new-generation Linea has been spotted on several occasions and this new Linea will be longer, wider and a lot more aggressive in styling.

Fiat has used a new modular platform that will make the new Linea lighter and efficient too.

This is likely the SCA (Fiat’s Small car architecture) that will be shared with Fiat 500X, 500L and Jeep Renegade.

Fiat has invested about $1 billion on manufacture this new project. The new Punto too will be based on this platform.

The new Linea will be manufactured in Turkey and will be renamed as well. The production of the new Linea in Turkey will commence in 2016 and for the Indian market it will be made available in 2017. There will be multiple changes made on the Linea for India as it will even get the 1.5-litre multijet engine. The new Punto will also be based on the same platform and Fiat will be looking at exporting from Turkey and India to other markets.

The new Fiat Linea will comfortable, spacious, technologically advanced, and efficient and of course it will retain the flair of Italian designs. Fiat will be getting the Linea in India with a 1.

4-litre T-Jet and 1.5-litre multijet engine options. Fiat has been working on six-speed transmissions, however aren’t certain if that will be for India as well. The SCA platform vehicles will be manufactured in India as well. See our detailed story on Fiat’s plans for India.
