KTM has already began its operations of the RC 250 and the Duke 250 in India and these bikes have been made for Japanese market. The RC 250 and the Duke 250 will be manufactured in India as it helps KTM to reduce the cost and make it a lot more cost effective in the South-East Asian markets.

KTM had unveiled the RC 250 and the Duke 250 in Japan in March 2015. These motorbikes are powered by a 249cc engine that produces 31bhp of power and 24Nm of peak torque. For Indian market though, Bajaj is looking at getting this same engine on an adventure bike.

Even Hero is working on a 250cc adventure bike, which could be the Impulse 250 or it will be named on the lines of HX 250R.

The plans by KTM to get the Super Duke R have been delayed for the time being and it won’t be introducing it this year end as it wants to take the CKD route to reduce the pricing. So, this year KTM plans to get the new Adventure version with the 250cc engine and no plans to introduce the RC 250 and Duke 250 at the moment.

Bajaj will be getting another new bike next month, which will be the Pulsar 150NS and in this financial year, they will be introducing the Pulsar 400cc bike or bikes too. Bajaj will be looking at adding more 400cc models, as there will be the Pulsar CS 400, SS 400 and even the Avenger will come with a 400cc engine.
