Volkswagen is preparing to introduce the facelift version of the Vento. The Volkswagen Vento 2016 has been spotted on test. It gets LEDs and then a new variant will be introduced too. The company is planning to introduce a new diesel engine too. So, what does the new Vento have on offer? We share our in depth preview of the VW Vento 2017.

Volkswagen Vento 2017 Exterior

In one of our spy images, we have caught a glimpse of the fascia of this entry-level sedan from Volkswagen and it has DRLs (daytime running LEDs). The Vento will be the only sedan in its segment to get LEDs as Hyundai is no longer offering DRLs on the Verna. There are also some minor changes to the headlamp and there will be a new front grille to differentiate it from the Polo. The Vento’s rear will also get a new set of LED tail lamps, as we had spotted a while ago. Else, it will continue with the same three-chrome slat grille that makes it look like a mini Jetta. The German automaker is also planning to come up with a Black Edition, as the wheels on this version are sporty. It has matte black alloy wheels that makes it look stylish.

The new Volkswagen Vento 2016 won’t get too much changes on the inside. The dashboard is made of high quality plastic that has good fit and finish. The three spoke steering wheel is leather wrapped and is chunky to hold. There is a touchscreen system that comes with reverse parking camera and even Apple CarPlay. In terms of other features, dual airbags and ABS are offered as a standard. There is a armrest in both the rows. The interiors are black and beige dual tone ones. The top model will even have leather upholstery as well.

There is more than sufficient space for the rear passengers. For those who are chauffeur-driven, can adjust the front seat from the rear. This is another convenient feature loaded on the Volkswagen Vento 2016. The boot too is large enough to gobble luggage for an entire weekend.

Volkswagen Vento 2017 Engine

The Vento will sold with three engines, two being petrol, 1.6-litre petrol with five-speed manual transmission, 1.2-litre turbo petrol with seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and one 1.5-litre diesel engine that will be made available with a five-speed manual transmission and a seven-speed dual-clutch box. The diesel engine will get an upgrade. It will now be producing about 108bhp of power, a bump of about 5bhp. There has been an improvement in the performance and even the fuel-efficiency. This will be made available on the Ameo and even the Vento then. Our pick is the 1.2-litre TSI if you are looking at buying a petrol car and in diesel the automatic is a better bet, especially if you are driving it yourself.
