Toyota Fortunerhas gained bags of success since its launch back in 2009. To keep its spirits alive, Toyota is all ready to present its new generation, which will make its way into India in 2016, in July in Thailand.

This time Toyota has built the Fortuner on a new platform, which is again shared with the Hilux. Apart from changing the platform, the SUV will come with some evident change in its styling, both from inside as well as outside. We expect that this styling will be similar on the latest Lexus RX- like design. It will definitely be grabbing huge attention when driving it on road. The Lexus RX styling will be sharper and clearer and aggressive in its looks than the outgoing Fortuner.

With some upgrades in its platform which would be based on the Hilux pick up, we expect some serious upgrades in its list of features. With the current features like HID lamps, touchscreen infotainment display and steering mounted controls; navigation and some driver-assisted features might be added to the feature list.

Currently Toyota provides a rear spoiler to give a sporty touch to its SUV and of course the TRD kit also comes along as an optional package for all its buyers.

With respect to the engine specifications, the Fortuner might be launched with a new diesel engine instead of the 3.

0-litre D-4D engine that produces 169bhp of power and 343Nm of torque. The SUV as usual will come with both 4X2 and 4X4 option for off road driving conditions. The new diesel variant might be a 2.2-litre engine, which will be derived from the existing 2.

5-litre Innova engine. Further specification might come as and when the launch date comes nearer.
