Ford is gearing up to launch the new Figo Aspire, its first compact sedan for India. This compact sedan will be manufactured at Ford’s new Sanand facility.

Recently, Ford had invited us to the plant for the preview of the Figo Aspire.

This will be the first product to be manufactured in the plant and Ford is looking at introducing it in India around July-August. The Figo Aspire’s brand ambassador is Farhan Akhtar and this is being shot on Palm Beach Road in Navi Mumbai.

Ford will be introducing the Figo Aspire with a 1.

2-litre Ti-VCT engine and a 1.5-litre DV5 diesel engine. Both these engines will come mated to a five-speed manual transmission. As per Ford’s announcement, they will be looking at getting two engine options on the Figo Aspire. The Figo Aspire will be priced between Rs 6.5-9.0 lakhs (on-road price).

The Figo Aspire is one of the most well proportionate looking compact sedans and it carries forward the Kinetic Design 2.0, as we have already seen on the Ford Fiesta facelift too. The rear gets a thick chrome strip that makes it look premium.

The Figo Aspire will get most of the bells and whistles offered on compact sedan and this will be the first one in this segment to get multiple airbags on the range topping variant. The Figo Aspire even gets a colour screen infotainment system with piano black centre console. There are no rear AC vents and the boot also looks large enough.
