Next-generation Toyota Fortuner front spotted

The next-generation Toyota Fortuner has been spotted and the fascia of this new SUV doesn’t resemble the Hilux or the new Innova that are in the making as well. The new Toyota Fortuner, Innova and the Hilux are based on the same platform, however all three will look different in the next-generation.

The Fortuner gets sleek headlamp design, which is sharp and it also gets stylish front-end too. The new front grille is slimmer and has more chrome bling on it. The fog lamps are small and narrow, however it also gets thick chrome surrounds. The next-generation Fortuner will be sleeker and sharper looking than the current one to compete with the Hyundai Santa Fe and other stiff competition.

The Fortuner will be lighter than the current-generation SUV and it will also have a down sized engine, again likely to be a 2.2-litre. This will be derived from the current-sold 3.0-litre engine and will get better performance and fuel efficiency too. The new Fortuner will be offered with 4×2 and 4×4 options and will also feature an automatic. India won’t get the petrol models and these will be launched in the Gulf countries. Our friends at HeadlightMag spotted the new Fortuner.

The new Fortuner will possess similar dimensions to the current-sold version, however it will have better driving dynamics and even the off-roading capabilities will be enhanced. The Innova too will be lighter and the engine on the MPV will be downsized. Toyota is looking at increasing the fuel efficiency of the Fortuner, the Hilux and the Innova. The Hilux however won’t be making it to India.
