India is host to many international motorcycle brands and also local ones.

There have been bikes which have been successes owing to their styling or design. However, have been a few which have been criticized for their looks and for a few, this aspect has been a reason for their failure as well. We list out the top 5 ugliest bikes in India. These bikes are part of this list due to the larger perception amongst consumers, it is also true that there are buyers who have liked the design of these bikes.

Hero Karizma ZMR

The first generation Hero Honda Karizma was a revolution of sorts. The bike was big, powerful and with a fairing had great road presence too. However, the same cannot be said for the second generation Karizma ZMR, which seems as if it has been designed by a frustrated designer who was hell bent upon making the bike look ugly. It beat the imagination of many enthusiasts as to how could a bike look this ugly. The treatment of the fairing, the integration o fthe tail and the ill looking taillamp, all contribute in making this bike one of the ugliest designs ever. Many Karizma fans have moved away, but as they say that looks are subjective, the Karizma ZMR still sells decent numbers in pockets.

Yamaha Libero

the Yamaha Libero was one of the first products of Yamaha when it went solo in the country, after buying out the stake of its partner, Escorts, in the early 2000’s. The Libero though being a fine product had a weird looking front end. The biking fairing was so ugly that it put off many buyers. The company had to replace the headlamp in the later models to win back customers. The motorcycle though had one of the most refined engines in those days.

Yamaha Fazer 125

As if the Libero was not enough, Yamaha made another blunder by launching the Fazer 125 with an even uglier looking front. The headlamp cowl resembled an insect and was literally ugly.  To add to that, the graphics on the tank and side panels were horrible.

This was a reason why the bike did not sell. Yamaha was quick to correct its mistake and later relaunched the bike with a saner look, re-christened as Gladiator.

Suzuki Inazuma 250

The Suzuki Inazuma 250 was an odd-ball from the Japanese maker. Though it was otherwise a fine bike with a powerful 250cc motor, the looks made it look weird. To start with, the headlamp cowl looks too small in comparison to the size of the bike. The tank shrouds seems like broad shoulders holding a small head. The headlamp had a funny bulbous look to it.

The front mudguard also looked like a misfit and too large over here. Over all, these aspects affected the appeal of the bike and it was withdrawn from the market,

Mahindra Mojo

The Mahindra Mojo has been known for its touring skills and has a powerful 300cc engine as well. While the bike looks proportionate from most angles, it has a rather weird looking front. The twin headlamp setup is a bit awkward and the entire headlamp cowl has a hanging-out design, which looks ill-fitted. This large console also adds to the weight and makes the front-end heavier. Somehow, the front does not gel well with the rest of the bike.
