TVS Radeon 110cc “Commuter of the year” edition launched

TVS Motor Company, a reputed manufacturer of two-wheelers and three-wheelers in the world, announced the launch of ‘Commuter of the Year’ celebratory special
edition of TVS Radeon 110cc – the most awarded commuter motorcycle of the year. The special edition comes in two colours Chrome-Black and Chrome-Brown. The TVS Radeon was first shown as a concept at the 2012 Auto Expo with a 125cc engine.  This bike has been TVS answer to the Hero Honda Splendour.

This bike is a unique blend of a metal body offering it a robust build as well as plush comfort. The TVS Radeon is targetted towards discerning progressive middle India Millenials.

TVS Radeon 110cc Price

This price for a commuter bike is justified. This bike does not feature any fancy bits and there is also very less design development. This has helped TVS to price the bike competitively. This segment does not demand any bells and whistles. The bike is functional and reliable. The price plays the main role in this segment and at Rs 52,720 (ex-showroom) price this vehicle is well priced. There is an option of a disc brake at the front which costs Rs 2,100 more.

TVS Radeon 110cc Mileage

TVS Motor Company claims fuel efficiency figures of 69.3 km/l from the 110 cc commuter bike. Real-life numbers will vary and be lower. The TVS Radeon 110cc will return great mileage.

TVS Radeon 110cc Specifications

The Radeon has a single-cylinder air-cooled 110cc engine that displaces about 8.2bhp at 7,000 rpm and peak torque of 8.7Nm at 5,000 rpm. This engine is mated to a four-speed gearbox. There was an expectation that it will be a 125cc scooter, but that’s not happening. The TVS Radeon 110cc comes with Synchronised Braking technology. This according to TVS is a segment-first and increases braking control. TVS also states that this technology minimizes the risk of skidding. The commuter bike is based on an all-new chassis and gets a single cradle tubular frame. The customer base for the TVS Radeon is a small town or rural India in the age group of 25 to 35 years.

There will be no rear disc brakes on offer on this bike. Front and rear drum brakes only. There won’t be ABS offered at this price point.

TVS Radeon 110cc Design & Features

The new ‘Commuter of the Year’ comes with cosmetic changes.  The design does not change in any aspect. It gets a premium rexin seat. This is accompanied by change in the graphics that run across the vehicle. The bike also gets a new petrol tank cushion along with R emblemed on it. There is a robust thigh pad design. The new brake and clutch levers are metalic and give a good look. There is chrome on the rearview mirrors and chrome carburetor cover to finish up all the chrome overload. The bike now also gets a front disk brake.

TVS Radeon 110cc colours

The TVS Radeon is offered in 2 new colours. Both of them sport a lot of chrome. This gives the feeling of dual-tone on a budget commuter bike.
