2018 Honda Activa-i: Gets new features, colors, accessories and more

The Honda Activa line-up is one day going to become so vast and filled with sub-variants that it’s going to be tough to buy the best selling scooter. The 2018 Honda Activa-i is part of that story. This bike was recently updated and quietly released by Honda on their website.

Why launch and advertise something that just sells huge numbers on word-of-mouth advertising.

The new bike is still the lighter version of the Activa and is mainly made for women, senior citizens and young riders. The main new thing about the Activa-i is that it gets the four in lock system with seat opener. This is the same kind of system seen on the Honda Grazia.

2018 Honda Activa-i Price

The price for the 2018 Honda Activa-I starts at around 50,010. It is less expensive than the Activa 5G, Honda Activa 125 and the Honda Grazia. At this price the scooter directly competes with the TVS Pleasue and TVS Scooty.

2018 Honda Activa-i Mileage

The Activa-I is the according to Honda the most fuel efficient scooter in India with a claimed mileage of 60km/l. Remember this is a claimed figure. The scooter will probably have a different and reduced mileage in the real world.

2018 Honda Activa-i Specifications

The Honda Activa-i has the same dimensions and suspension as the Activa 5G and is only lighter, specifically, 6kgs lighter. Other things that are the same on the bike include the engine and the brakes. The Honda Activa-i uses the fan cooled, four-stroke, BS-4 engine that makes about 8bhp and 9Nm of torque. The drum brakes are the same too. The tubeless tyres are 10-inchs in size.

The Honda Activa-i is not a very radical design. It does not get any major changes.

The Activa-i gets new dual tone finish and a body colored mirrors.

There is a new instrument cluster designed as well. Under the seat is 18-litres of space to keep luggage. There is also a mobile charging socket under the seat, which comes as an accessory. There is also a new smart hook at the front to hang stuff. There is a stylish metal muffler that’s going to give the bike an enhanced look.

The headlamps, turn signal lights and tail lamps remain unchanged. The footpegs for the pillion rider too are the same.
