Suzuki is preparing to launch the faired version of the Gixxer in the coming few months, however our friends at GaadiWaadi have snapped a few images of this new bike.

Suzuki will be competing with the Yamaha Fazer and Honda CBR15R with this new faired bike. At the moment, the company is selling the Gixxer, which is a 155cc single-cylinder engine. This bike is likely to be priced at about Rs 95 thousand (on-road).

The bike is likely to be called as Gixxer SLK or GSX150F or GSX-R150, and it will produce 14.5bhp of power at 8,000rpm and 14Nm of maximum torque at 6,000rpm. This will come mated to a five-speed transmission. The Gixxer weighs about 135kgs, so the fairing will have some additional weight and even the ECU will be re-tuned for better city riding, which means more linear power.

The Gixxer was introduced in September 2014 and since then there has been no stopping for the manufacturer. Suzuki’s sales numbers have been growing and the Japanese manufacturer is now looking at capitalising by introducing the fully-faired version of the Gixxer, which will compete in the sports bike segment.

Suzuki had recently introduced the Swish 125, which is a 125cc scooter.

Suzuki is also working multiple new products in the motorcycle and scooter segments, however we will have to wait and watch. At the moment, the only new product coming up is the Gixxer SLK or the Gixxer GSX150F. Expect Suzuki to even introduce GSX R range of bikes in India.
