Maruti will launch the Ignis micro SUV soon. This will be a game changer in the segment that it will operate in. The Maruti Ignis looks stylish and it has good road presence too. The large front grille with horizontal chrome slats making have a front stance. The headlamps gel well with the design and then it even gets daytime running LEDs. The front of the Maruti Ignis looks appealing and seems like a SUV. The Maruti Swift 2017 will get an all new design.

This will be an evolution of the existing hatchback. But this one will be a lot sharper and stylish. The front grille have been redesigned and this gets a new look. The headlamps now have daytime running LEDs in them.

The side profile makes it look so funky and trendy with the cuts in the C-pillar and the steeply sloping roof to the rear.

From the side, this seems more like a tall boy than an SUV. The side profile of the Swift 2017 retains similarity in design to
the outgoing Swift. The rear door handle has been shifted next to the window. The Ignis is a well proportioned vehicle and due to its small wheelbase and height it doesn’t seem to be an SUV.

It is on the inside that the Ignis has stylish looking design. The quality of the materials is upmarket. It gets an off white and black dashboard. The Swift 2017 get all new interiors. The dashboard has a simple design and doesn’t look complicated. A new-generation Suzuki steering wheel has been used, this gets audio and cruise controls as well. The instrument cluster is all new as well.

Maruti Ignis Vs Maruti Swift 2017 Features

The Ignis  will get a touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, steering mounted controls. Then there are dual airbags and ABS that will be offered as a standard feature. The centre console has a simple layout and it is easy to use. The new features on the Swift 2017 will be a touchscreen system with navigation, reverse parking camera and even multiple airbags.

Maruti Ignis Vs Maruti Swift 2017 Space

In terms of space, The Ignis packs in more than sufficient room for front and surprisingly even rear passengers. There is more than sufficient knee room and head room for both the rows. The boot size is decent enough and should be good enough for the size of the Ignis. The new Swift isn’t larger in dimensions than the outgoing model, but it will have a lot more space this time. The company has enhanced the interior space. The rear seat has better knee room and at the same time, even the boot is larger than outgoing Swift.

The Maruti Ignis will come with a 1.2-litre petrol engine, however the diesel will be a 1.2-litre as well. It is expected to have good driveability. The engines that will be offered on the new Swift 2017 will be the same 1.2-litre petrol engine that will churn about 84bhp of power and the diesel will be the new 1.2-litre mill. This engine has been designed by Suzuki and is their first set of in-house designed and developed diesel engines.

Maruti Ignis Vs Maruti Swift 2017 Price

The Ignis is expected to be priced Between INR 5.5 Lakhs and 8.5 Lakhs. The new Swift is expected to be priced at INR 5.4 lakhs to INR 8.5 lakhs (on-road).  Thought the price band is the same, the Ignis will be targeted towards urban buyers mainly in metro cities whereas th Swift will have an appeal even in smaller towns and rural areas.

Maruti Ignis Vs Maruti Swift 2017  Mileage

Maruti Ignis Petrol will return around 15 km/l and the Ignis Diesel around 20 km/l. With SHVS it will return a mileage of 25 km/l. The Swift 2017 Petrol will return 14 km/l and the Diesel will return 20km/l. These figures are in real world conditions, in a mix of city and highway driving.
