Maruti Alto CNG is the most affordable hatchback in the country. The Alto is already the best selling car in India and now it is available in two CNG avatars: Maruti Alto 800 CNG and Maruti Alto K10 CNG.

 The two different engines on the Alto CNG make it a good option to consider for those who are only looking for mileage. 

Why Maruti Alto CNG?

The Alto is the cheapest Maruti and with CNG it is even cheaper to run. Because the Alto CNG has sequential injection, there is not much of an effect on the performance. The Alto CNG doesn’t even come at a very high cost either, so it is fairly affordable also. Maruti Suzuki has made a smart move with the Alto CNG. This makes it a highly fuel-efficient hatchback and at the same time one of the cheapest to run as well.

Downsides of Alto CNG

1. No boot space left as the tank takes up the entire space
2. Less power, especially on the 800cc engine
3. Not available on the top model
4. Not available with AMT option

Should you consider Alto 800 CNG or Alto K10 CNG?

The Alto K10 is more expensive than the Alto 800. However, the power it produces is good enough to drive in city. We prefer the Alto K10 CNG, and recommend only if you have a higher budget. Else, the Alto 800 CNG won’t let you complain either. It is good and is highly recommended too.

Maruti Alto CNG Mileage / Average

The Alto 800 has an average of 34.44km/kg, while on the Alto K10 it is 32.26km/kg. There isn’t a major difference in the mileage, but in performance, the K10 is far better than the 800. This is what makes it stand out.
