Hyundai Creta Exterior

Here is where the Creta moves ahead of the competition. It looks a lot more big and premium than the competition. With its Fluidic design, the Korean automaker has turned more heads than the French and Japanese car maker. The stylish front grille and the headlamps with daytime running LEDs looks brilliant. The stylish side profile makes it look SUV-like, not crossover like. The rear also looks pleasing. The license plate is located just on the bumper. This makes the SUV look taller and bigger.

Hyundai Creta Interiors

Here is why buyers are picking the Creta. It doesn’t just have new interiors but the look so premium. The interiors feel a segment above and even the features they offer are the best in its segment. Keyless entry, push start and stop, reverse parking camera, navigation and what not. Hyundai Creta has the best quality plastics in this segment and even the look and feel of the materials is superior to other competition.

Hyundai Creta has good enough space in the front row and even the second row has decent space. Rear AC vents, airbags and ABS are also offered on the Creta. The boot size is fairly large on this SUV. This is what makes it a good option to consider over the rest.

Hyundai Creta Engine

The Creta comes with one petrol and two diesel engines. All are offered with six-speed manual, while the petrol and bigger diesel are made available with a six-speed automatic also. Where the Hyundai crete excels is engine refinement. The Creta diesels are so quiet, it feels like a petrol engine. The engines on the Hyundai Creta are powerful and have good enough torque.

There is more than sufficient power at almost all engine speeds. This makes it a good option to consider as driving in city traffic or even on the highway is a breeze. In terms of performance, one can overtake with ease. There isn’t much of a need to downshift. The engine is a bit sluggish at low rpms, but that bandwidth is minimal. Hyundai had recently announced that there will be no all-wheel drive version for the Creta in India. It will continue to sell the front-wheel drive version, at least for the time being.

Hyundai Creta Handling

We drove the 1.6 diesel automatic variant and on the move, the SUV impresses in certain areas.  The thing that impresses most is the ride quality. Hyundai has worked a lot on the suspension and it shows. The suspension setup is integrated with ‘Hydro Rebound Stoppers’. This function of which is to stop jerks to pass on through the shock absorbers into the body. I drove over some broken roads and large ditches along the way and the result was a fine ride at any speed. The Creta just gobbled up rough roads.

Coming to the handling, this area is definitely not a strong point of the Creta. While the steering feel is better as compared to earlier Hyundai products and is better weighted, the disconnect and lack of feedback is quite apparent. At high speeds it doesn’t feel very confident, although the straight line stability is fine.
