TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Carburetor vs FI Difference

  1. Looks: There isn’t a major change, except for the DFILogic. This is the only major differentiator between Apache RTR 200 4V Carburetor vs Fuel Injection.
  2. Carburetor and EFI Brands: The EFI brand will be Bosch. On the other hand, the carburetor is made up Keihin CV.
  3. Power on paper: There is a minor difference in the power produced by the fuel injection.

It produces about 0.95PS more than the carburetor.

  4. Weight: Is there any difference in the weight of the two bikes? It is about 450 gms that is the difference. The Fuel injection version is heavier.
  5. Power to Weight Ratio: The increase in power now means that the power to weight ratio has also improved. The carb model has 138.5PS/tonne, while the FI has 141.5PS/tonne. This means that the FI will have better performance.
  6. Performance: So, is there a difference in performance. Not much in outright performance as the carb version will do 0-60km/hr in 3.95 seconds and FI does it in 3.9 seconds. While both of them do 0-100km/hr in 12 seconds.
  7. Drivability: The FI will have better drivability as it has better torque across the rev meter. This means less gear shifting and better performance in city traffic.
  8. Throttle Response: As the torque is better, the throttle response is also better on the FI. This will make it better to ride in city and to make those quick overtakes.
  9. Top Speed: There is a change in the top speed.

The carburetor version has a top speed of 127km/hr and the FI has 129km/hr.

  10. Exhaust Note: There isn’t a major change in the exhaust note as the exhaust remains the same. But this will be a better exhaust note.
