Hyundai Elite i20 facelift in 2018
Hyundai has started working on the facelift version of the Elite i20. Launched back in 2014, Hyundai will be looking at giving the Elite i20 a facelift. The difficulty we have to understand is what will the Korean automaker do to a design that already looks so appealing. Lets find out more on the Hyundai Elite i20 facelift. The Elite i20 has already been a hit and Hyundai will want to make it even a better option as several amongst competition are looking at adding more features.
The Elite i20 will be getting additional features on them. To begin with, it is likely to get leather seat upholstery, auto day and night internal mirror, advanced driver information system which should now get distance to empty. The Elite i20 has been one of the most feature loaded vehicles in its segment and it seems that Hyundai will add more features to make it even more premium.
This time around, the Elite i20 will even get dual airbags and ABS as a new standard feature across all variants. The Maruti Baleno is already offering that and Honda will be offering it soon. Hyundai is giving their features as an option on all variants, soon that will be made standard.
Hyundai won’t be changing the engines offered on the Elite i20 facelift. It will continue to come with a 1.2-litre petrol, 1.4-litre diesel and even the 1.4-litre petrol. The first two will come with a five-speed and six-speed manual; and will churn 81bhp and 90bhp respectively. This makes both of them good enough to drive in the city and even on the highway. Both the engines are doing well and the diesel engine is the most quiet one of all. The Hyundai Elite i20 will get a new engine as well. This is the 1.4-litre petrol engine that will churn 100bhp of power and it will come with a six-speed automatic transmission. This mill will be introduced before the facelift and will be coming in by the end of 2016.
Petrol 1.4-litre Automatic
There won’t be any major changes in the exterior styling of the Elite i20. It has been an outright successful design and Hyundai will not want to make major changes to it. The Elite i20 facelift will get a lot more subtle upgrades on the outside with the front grille and some bits for the front and rear bumpers.
