Hyundai has started working on the facelift version of the Elite i20. This car has now been spied testing. Though under heavy camouflage, it showed some elements which conclude that there is a have cosmetic job at the front and rear of the car. The car will bear the current design theme of Hyundai cars. The exterior styling of the Hyundai Elite i20 2018 will undergo serious changes. As we have seen in the new Xcent, the Elite i20 will also get the signature hexagonal grille, similar to other Hyundai cars. The spy shots also reveal new projector headlamps. These headlamps also have elongated LED DRLs. The Elite i20 has been a success so Hyundai will restrict the changes to the front and rear. The car will also get a new set of alloy wheels. The rare will see new taillamps and a new bumper. The number plate will now be mounted on the boot, rather than on the bumper.
The Hyundai Elite i20 2018 will be getting additional features on them. To begin with, it is likely to get leather seat upholstery, auto day and night internal mirror, advanced driver information system which should now get distance to empty. The Elite i20 has been one of the most feature loaded vehicles in its segment and it seems that Hyundai will add more features to make it even more premium.
This time around, the Hyundai Elite i20 2018 will even get dual airbags and ABS as a new standard feature across all variants. The Maruti Baleno is already offering that and Honda will be offering it soon. Hyundai is giving their features as an option on all variants, soon that will be made standard.
Hyundai won’t be changing the engines offered on the Hyundai Elite i20 2018 facelift. It will continue to come with a 1.2-litre petrol, 1.4-litre diesel and even the 1.4-litre petrol. The first two will come with a five-speed and six-speed manual; and will churn 81bhp and 90bhp respectively. This makes both of them good enough to drive in the city and even on the highway. Both the engines are doing well and the diesel engine is the most quiet one of all. The Hyundai Elite i20 2018 will get a new engine as well. This is the 1.4-litre petrol engine that will churn 100bhp of power and it will come with a six-speed automatic transmission. This mill will be introduced before the facelift and will be coming in by the end of 2016.
