India’s favourite sedan – Honda City will see an upgrade soon. The 2017 model will an upgrade in terms of styling and features. This will be better than the existing model. New Honda City 2017 vs Old Honda City Design

The old Honda City had received a major styling update a few years back. I t looked more premium compared to the earlier version. however now it has been years since any changes were made to the car. This time the new Honda City 2017 comes in form of a facelift. The basic design remains the same. There is no change in the sheet metal too. The New Honda City 2017 gets a new front grille. This grille looks more premium and modern. It also gets new headlamps. These headlamps now have LED daytime running lights too. The bumper is also new.

From the side, the new Honda city 2017 and the old Honda city are the same. The only change is the new set of alloy wheels. These are multi-spoke, machined ones and look elegant. The rear of the car is also the same. The taillamps have been updated internally but the design remains the same.

New Honda City 2017 vs Old Honda City Interiors

New Honda City ZX 2017

The New Honda City 2017 retains the basic interiors of the old City. There will some upgrades like LED lighting inside the cabin. Then steering mounted controls will now be offered on lower variants as well. Thats good news. The instrument console will get some tweaks. A new touchscreen system with bluetooth and a reverse parking camera will also be offered.

New Honda City 2017 vs Old Honda City Engine

The New Honda City 2017 will retain the same engines of the old City.  The petrol engine will be the 1.5-litre iVtec engine which will produce 118bhp of power. The diesel will be a 1.5-litre iDTec engine and this will produce 98bhp of power. There will a slight improvement in the driveability of both these engines. The New Honda City 2017 petrol will also get a six-speed manual transmission that is also being offered on the BR-V also. There will also be an important in the NVH levels of the New Honda City 2017 diesel, over the old City. This will be good as the old car felt noisy and harsh.

New Honda City 2017 vs Old Honda City Mileage

The old Honda City was a fuel efficient car and so will the New Honda City 2017 be. The engines remain the same so there wont be a change in mileage majorly. Due to the addition of a six-speed manual transmission in the petrol version, it will get slightly more fuel efficient. The petrol manual should return around 12-15 km/l in a mix of city and highway. The automatic will return around 10-13 km/l and the diesel will return 14-20 km/l. These figures will be in real driving conditions and will vary according to the driver.

New Honda City 2017 vs Old Honda City Price

 

As there is not much that has changed except some cosmetic changes and features, the prices of the New Honda City 2017 will remain more or less the same. A higher top-end variant will be introduced with more features, hence the price walk is expected to go up a bit. The top end version may cost upto INR 16 lakhs (on-road)
