The sub-compact SUV segment has become highly competitive and popular and the recently launched Nissan Magnite is the latest addition to this segment. Known for their looks, performance, features and efficiency, all the rivals in this segment are pretty closely matched. So here is a comparison of the Nissan Magnite vs Competition in the sub-compact SUV segment.

More about the exterior

magnite

Nissan Magnite, the newest entrant comes with the largest front grille in its segment. The front look of the SUV also looks quite similar to the Redi-GO. Silver finish on the body cladding all around the car adds a unique touch.

kia Sonet

Coming to the Kia Sonet, the first thing everyone notices is the tiger-nose grille on the SUV. Kia wanted to make an aggressive car and has executed it pretty decently. The GT line variant also comes with red inserts. The reflector at the rear which connects both the taillight is also one of the favourite features of Sonet customers.

Hyundai venue

The Hyundai Venue looks much more stylish with the chrome front grille on the standard variants. Ground clearance of the car could have been a little better. The minimalistic boxy design looks pretty decent while people are not a fan of the rear look of the SUV. The Sport variant also comes with red elements throughout the car.

Tata nexon

The Tata Nexon’s new updated design looks much more sporty and aggressive compared to before. It leads the segment with around 210mm of Unladen ground clearance. The Tata Nexon stands apart in terms of safety and build quality and also comes with projector headlamps from the base variant itself. The rear look of the SUV is also pretty decent.

Maruti Brezza was also recently updated but retains the simple and minimalistic styling as before. The Toyota Urban Cruiser which is also a competitor in the segment is essentially a rebadged version of the Maruti Vitara Brezza. Thus both the SUVs are identical to each other. The Maruti Brezza also comes with various roof colour options.

The Mahindra XUV300 is also one of the two SUVs in the segment to get a 5-star safety rating from GNCAP. It looks like conventional Mahindra cars but with modern touches. The overall design of the SUV being basic yet modern will age pretty well in the coming times.

ford eco

The Ford EcoSport is essentially the creator of this segment. The Ford EcoSport’s design was already a crowd favourite and the new update is not very different. It comes with all the sporty/SUV elements needed to compete in this segment. The Ford EcoSport also come with the largest fog lamps in its segment. The overall design of the SUV is also in contrast with the square-ish/boxy looks of the majority of rivals. It is also unique in terms of side-ways opening boot door.
