Royal Enfield has launched a new custom bike in Spain, called the Royal Enfield Classic 500 Green Fly. The Green Fly is built on the Classic 500 but gets a heavily customized. This bike is built by Jesus de Juan. It is somewhat inspired from the Dirty Duck custom off-road Continental GT. What is the Royal Enfield Classic 500 Green Fly all about? We tell you about it.

Royal Enfield Classic 500 Green Fly Design

The Royal Enfield Classic 500 Green Fly is based on the Classic 500. The bike is designed by Jesus de Juan and uses the engine of the Classic 500. However, he has used a Continental GT frame to build this bike. The upper tubers of the frame have seen some heavy modification. The reason for using a Continental GT frame is because it is more robust than that of the Classic 500. The result is a stunning looking bike, which is a genuine off-roader.

The bike looks attractive with the bright green color and black graphics. The bike has those rugged looks of an off-roader.  It gets a dual LED headlamp in a vertical setup. and a single instrument pod. It has a small single seat, which is suspended. The fuel tank remains the same as the Classic 500. The Royal Enfield Classic 500 Green Fly gets a new suspension setup . It has a mono shock at the rear instead of dual springs and on the front it gets upside down forks. The rear mono shock adds to the look of the bike.

Royal Enfield Classic 500 Green Fly Engine

The Royal Enfield Classic 500 Green Fly uses a 500cc, single cylinder, air cooled, fuel injection engine. This is the same engine that does duty in the Classic 500. There have been certain tweaks to the engine. It produces more low end torque as compared to the regular Classic 500. The performance is also enhanced due to the lighter weight of the bike as compared to the regular Classic 500 or the Continental GT.

Royal Enfield Classic 500 Green Fly Ride and Handling

The Royal Enfield Classic 500 Green Fly is designed purely for off-roading. This is a reason why it is fixed with special off-road knobby tyres, found in dirt bikes. The front tyre size is 140mm and the rear tyre size is 150mm. These wheels are fitted on green colour alloy wheels. The front has a new petal disc brake, while the rear carries over the brake from the Continental GT.
