Harley-Davidson has announced an increase in prices on select models which are sold in India to the tune of  INR 30,000. This is in order to offset the impact of foreign exchange rate fluctuation.


As per Harley-Davidson, the price increase is set to be applicable on Street 750, the Sportster family and the Softail range of bikes in India. The new prices will come into effect from April 1, 2016.

At present, the Street 750 model price starts at INR 4.

95 lakhs (on-road) while prices of three models in the Sportster family –  Iron 883, 1200 Custom and Forty Eight, starts at INR 8.10 lakhs, INR 9.8 lakhs and INR 10.11 lakhs (0n-road), respectively.
The Softail range has three models its line up. The Fat Boy starting at INR 16.65 lakh, Breakout starting at INR 18 lakh and Heritage Softail Classic starting at INR 18.3 lakhs (on-road).

Explaining the move behind the price hike, the company said: “The increase is due to the impact of the Rupee-Dollar exchange rate.
